Job Title: Controls Estimator

This is a FULL-TIME position

Purpose: To analyze project requirements, develop accurate cost estimates for building automation projects, and support the sales and project management teams in bidding work competitively and profitably.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Review plans, specifications, and addenda for control system scope
  • Develop detailed takeoffs of controllers, devices, panels, and wiring
  • Prepare accurate labor and material estimates for installation
  • Coordinate with engineers to clarify scope and sequences of operation
  • Request and analyze vendor/supplier pricing
  • Build and maintain estimating templates and cost databases
  • Prepare bid packages and proposals in coordination with sales
  • Attend pre-bid meetings and walk-throughs
  • Track and document assumptions, clarifications, and exclusions
  • Support project managers during project handoff to ensure budgets align
  • Monitor actual project costs vs. estimates for future accuracy improvements
  • Maintain awareness of labor rates, productivity benchmarks, and industry trends
  • Anything required to meet the needs of the customer
